How to Play Gameday Squares
Super Bowl Squares shouldn't be limited to one event—play this classic game online with friends for every NFL, NBA, or WNBA matchup. If you're new to it, think of it as a fun way to add excitement to watching a game, even if you're not an expert. Here's how:
Set Up Your Grid
10×10 Board: The grid is 10x10, for a total of 100 squares.
Understand the Digits
- Rows & Columns (0–9): Eventually, each row and column will get a number (0 through 9).
- Score's Last Digit: These numbers represent the last digit of each team's score at the end of each quarter or the final score.
Claim Your Squares
- Pick Your Spots: Everyone chooses one or more squares.
- Mark Them: Claimed squares display your initials; unclaimed squares remain blank.
- No Strategy Needed: Randomness makes it fun—no pressure!
Assign Numbers (Randomize the Grid)
- After Everyone Picks: After everyone picks squares, numbers 0–9 are randomly assigned to rows (Team 1) and columns (Team 2).
- Example: If Row 1 is labeled "4," it corresponds to Team 1's potential last score digit of 4; if Column 1 is labeled "7," that's Team 2's digit of 7.
Determine Winners by Score
- Check Each Quarter: At the end of each quarter (or final), note the last digit of both teams' scores.
- Find the Intersection: See where Team 1's row digit meets Team 2's column digit. Whoever has that square wins!
Example in Action
- Team 1's Score: 24 → last digit is 4
- Team 2's Score: 17 → last digit is 7
- Winning Square: The row labeled "4" and the column labeled "7." Whoever is in that square takes the prize for the quarter.
Repeat Every Quarter
- Multiple Winners: Do the same for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters (and final score if you like).
- New Chances Each Time: Each quarter's last digits might land on different squares.
Collect Your Prizes
- Quarterly or Final: Award prizes after each quarter or save it all for the end.
- Enjoy the Excitement: Whether you win or not, it's a blast following your squares.
That's all it takes—pick squares, watch the score, and root for those last digits!
